It is summer time indeed. And you might be looking for your next adventure trip with loved ones, family and friends to fight off the heat of the season. Then, if you’re the hunt of anywhere in Batangas, this resort in Calatagan might tickle your summer fancies as I share with you our one day adventure at Aquaria Beach Resort. (2016 Rates Below)
Aquaria Beach Resort is located in Playa Calatagan, about three hours away from Metro Manila, a property developed by Landco in Brgy. Sta. Ana Calatagan, Batangas. The beach resort is under the management of Fuego Hotels and Properties, the same people handling Punta Fuego.
Aquaria Beach Resort offers both the amenities of beach and pool, making it easy for someone who likes water so much to have fun of both worlds. While, it can be a good solution as well, for groups who are divided whether to spend an adventure on beach or pool. Aquaria Beach Resort is has different pools catering to kids and adults. Entrance fee varies according to age and day.
Weekday | Weekend | |
Adult | Php 500 | Php 700 |
Kids (4ft. below) | Php 250 | Php 350 |
The best attraction of the pool part is their 40-feet slide. Similar to sliding from a 3-storey building in a swirling way before splashing to a pool. The giant slide also is the highest point in the area where you can see the great view of the Aquaria Beach Resort.
Anyone who wants to slide down the giant structure is required to use the inflatables for safety. So, how was the ride? Well, just look at our faces. :-)
Guests can use all the swimming facilities for the entire day, including the giant slide. Cabanas are also available to give each group a place for comfort and relaxation. The rental fee for Cove Pool Cabana (good for 10-12 pax) is P1,000.00. Resort Pool Cabana will fit up to 15 persons, costs P1,500.00.
Now, if you feel like the pool does not excite you, and you want a more natural summer fun, then you can always walk to the beach of Calatagan, Batangas. It is just a few steps away from the pool area. The Aquaria Beach Resort occupies a more or less half-kilometer of white sand beach showcasing the beauty of the area.
You can stay at the Beach Front Cabana that can be rented for only P1,000.00 for the whole day should you prefer to stay at the beach front than at the pool side.
The beach front promises a lot of activities that I’m pretty sure you and your companion/s can enjoy while at the Aquaria. There are water activities that include kayaking, banana boat ride, jet ski to name a few.
Just take note that when in Aquaria and wanting to do sea water activities, the activities are limited to the condition of the tide. Some, like banana boat and jet ski are not possible anymore when the tide is low. Here’s a quick guide on the rates on the beach and water activities:
- Banana boat – 1500 for 15 minutes (5 pax)
- Kayak – 250 single / 400 double per hour
- Jet ski – 3500 per hour
- Volleyball / soccer ball rental – P50 per hour
Now, if you’re not much into so much water activities, you can also do volleyball and soccer at the beach front. There are balls and nets already setup in the area. And if active sports do not excite, rather, you are more of the relaxation type, you can always have yourself inked with henna while staying at the beach. Henna and massage are occasionally available and mostly during weekends of the summer.
Or have a massage. Sadly, I wasn’t able to experience the massage ala-Aquaria. Next time maybe. :-) As for me and Cristelle, the place is a nice place to have some of the memorable photos of us together. So, we managed to spend some time taking photos first. Lol.
The whole place is basically a camera-friendly subject for your photos. That’s why you wouldn’t have a hard time finding angles for your Instagram or Facebook photos.
And if you find yourself hungry, which I am pretty sure you would, there is a restaurant at the beach front called The Sands that offers reasonably priced meals. I was able to try some of their food, and it was sure a delight for my tastebuds. There are wide selection of veggies, soup, meat and of course, seafoods.
But, if you are the type who would like to bring your own food, it is also possible. You can enjoy having a seaside, beach front picnic with your loved ones and friends. You just have to pay a corkage fee per head of Php 100 for adults and Php 50 for kids. As for the shower and change areas, there are plenty, especially their bath house. There is ample space on each shower room. Making you feel more comfortable, as if you’re in a sauna house.
Well, it is worth your day staying at Aquaria Beach Resort. This is a great option for people wanting amenities of a white sand beach that is close to Manila. It a that kind of good space wherein you can simply relax or just enjoy the sun while dipping your body either in salt water or pool water, which is just roughly three hours away from Manila.
