Embedded Filipino artistry and culture, that is what the latest collection of the Rags2Riches is offering to the market, as they launched their Spring Summer collection in Greenbelt, Makati recently.
Inspired by the intricate designs and unique weaves of the Tinalak, R2R recently launched its Spring/Summer collection called “Newel,” which means “weave” in T’boli.
The new collection sports of vibrant and exquisite pieces like the Hedem Hobo Bag dubbed “The Thinking Woman” in Tiboli. R2R introduced their latest collection of bags and fashion items that are targeted to captivate Filipino women.
R2R also introduced their new style advocate Bianca Gonzales, who was very willing to endorse the brand. Gonzales said that she has high regard for the style that R2R products have. Not only that, Bianca said, that she believes in the cause that R2R is doing for the many Filipinos in the country now – giving more sense and value to their craft.
Renowned fashion stylists and R2R consultant Rajo Laurel and R2R CEO Reese Fernandez-Ruiz were present in the launch as well to grace the occasion.
Rags2Riches Inc. is a for-profit social enterprise based in Manila creating an eco-ethical fashion and home accessories out of up cycled scrap cloth, organic materials and indigenous fabrics. Most of the workforce of R2R are mostly women from poor communities in the in the Philippines.
