Samsung Electronics Philippines has partnered with Cordillera Mountain Ultra (CMU) as the event’s official watch partner, bringing the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 into the trail-running community. Through the initiative, called Trail with Galaxy, Samsung and CMU aim to support runners exploring the mountain terrain of Benguet and encourage more Filipinos to take part in outdoor activities.

CMU is an annual trail-running event in Benguet that offers distances for experienced runners and those new to the sport, according to the supplied announcement. Registration for the event is open until November 30, 2026, through the CMU registration website.

Galaxy Watch Ultra2 features for trail running

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 includes dual-frequency GPS, Trail Run Mode and GPX route guidance to help runners navigate routes and monitor performance data, including elevation, climbing progress and pace.

The company also lists a titanium body, IP69K and 10ATM ratings, a display rated at up to 5,000 nits and an 800mAh battery. Its Nutrition Alert feature provides hydration guidance based on estimated sweat loss, according to the announcement.

Samsung describes these features as designed to support outdoor activities and longer trail sessions. The supplied release does not provide independent performance-test results or details of how the watch’s battery life varies under different GPS and activity settings.

Community activities beyond race day

The Trail with Galaxy partnership is also expected to include community sessions and trail experiences outside the race itself. Samsung and CMU say these activities will give participants opportunities to learn from experienced runners, connect with other trail enthusiasts and experience Galaxy technology outdoors.

CMU organizer JP Alipio said the partnership supports the event’s long-standing aim of bringing more people outdoors. Jun Guevara, director and head of corporate marketing at Samsung Electronics Philippines, said the initiative is intended to introduce the watch’s capabilities to the trail-running community.

The announcement does not specify dates, venues or registration arrangements for the additional community activities. It also does not provide the event’s full race schedule, distances, entry fees or participant requirements.
