What makes a travel good? Getting to see beautiful places, learning things about a new place, finding nice food and doing adventures you’ve always wanted.
But a better travel is knowing you did all these and having a deeper purpose – making sure that the places you visit will still be at its best condition for others to see in the future.
However, reality is, it is not always the case for all travelers, as some are irresponsible to leave trash, vandal or ruin the nice locations. This is why, the recent AirAsia Philippines campaign “HowIFly” is close to heart as it advocates responsible traveling.
AirAsia Philippines’ HowIFly online movement aims to inspire, enable and empower travelers to take higher ground by being more responsible without taking away the fun in their adventures.
Philippines AirAsia CEO Dexter Comendador said that “#HowIFly calls for responsible travel, and the value of generating a positive impact on communities, wildlife and the environment. Over 1.5 billion travelers are expected to travel each year by 2020, and we have the power to change our world by simply becoming aware and responsible of our actions.”
#HowIFly challenges everyone to share how they are to be a responsible traveler. And what better way to share your thoughts than having a chance to be a winner?
#HowIFly participants are:
- to post a 15 to 30 second video on how they fly responsibly
- tag three of their friends to do the same.
- Three winners will be randomly chosen from the pool of entries
Representatives and officers from Sibaltan Heritage Council led by its president Enrico Cabiguen; OceanQuest Southeast Asia training director and conservation photographer Reggie Reyes; DOT Assistant Secretary for Mindanao Eden David; and AirAsia CEO Comendador signed the #HowIFly travel manifesto to signify commitment to the project.
