We’ve seen him and heard him on the sidelines on a number of great games in the history of Philippine sports. But this time around, he is will be at the forefront of probably the greatest game he will ever play in the history of broadcasting in country – the Pilipinas HD.
Chino Trinidad spearheaded a new cable channel that aims to revolutionize of how Filipinos think of themselves – by educating viewers of the history and culture of Pinoys.
Launching on June 12, 2016, a symbolic and emphatic way to launch a nationalistic-toned channel, Chino, I believe is on the right track shaping the mindset of this country through broadcast.
Pilipinas HD will feature cultural, historical and also current features about the Philippines.
Anchoring on Philippine history, Pilipinas HD will premier with a documentary of featuring some of the turning points of our history with some of the country’s known heroes – Jose Rizal, Antonio Luna, Gregoria de Jesus, Emilio Aguinaldo.
I personally think this is very timely. With Filipinos wanting change, maybe, a clear and more factual education of our history and culture can address and redefine how we should, as a nation, move forward.
As a treat for cable operators, from June 12 until the end of the month, Pilipnas HD will be free for subscription. After that, I hope that cable operators in the country will carry the channel so that it can somehow help how our nation, specially the youth, in learning more about our history.
It was great seeing some of the country’s pride supporting Chino Trinidad in his new endeavor – the likes of Paeng Nepomuceno, Eddie Ilarde, MTRCB chairman Atty. Toto Villareal, Mandaluyong Mayor Benhur Abalos and of course his dad, Recah Trinidad.
