As the Christmas season is coming to its peak, many people are in the holiday mood searching for the best finds and great places to spend at for the holidays with loved ones.
And with malls as one of the common destinations with family and friends, SM malls has set up their traditional Christmas themes for everyone to enjoy – both the kids and young at heart.
This year, the country’s biggest mall chain kicked it up a notch by holding its biggest Christmas launch yet with some of the world’s most popular and loved cartoon and toy characters.
All SM malls in the country simultaneously held a weekend of wondrous activities to usher in its Grand Christmas celebration. It started with the unveiling of SM North EDSA’s Christmas centerpiece, followed immediately by the respective launches of the rest of SM branches nationwide.
Dubbed “A Season of Magic”, SM North EDSA showcased different Disney characters featuring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. The mall’s centerpiece, the Disney Village, is expected to thrill kids from all walks of life and bring out the child in every adult. What made the launch more meaningful is the opportunity for specially selected less fortunate children from a selected beneficiary to personally meet and have photos taken with Mickey and Donald. They were also given the first sneak peek of the Disney Village, bringing out the air of warmth during the entire festivities.
“Nothing is more heartwarming than seeing these starry-eyed kids have their moment with no less than Mickey and Donald,” said Jonjon San Agustin, SM Supermalls’ Senior Vice President for Marketing. “This is, after all, a season of giving for everyone, and that is what SM is offering throughout the country for the entire Christmas holidays.
To add more spirit to the celebration, music from well-known Disney ballads filled the air courtesy of the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra with the cherubic voices of the Mandaluyong Children’s Choir.
Elsewhere in other SM malls, grand Christmas centerpieces were also launched throughout the weekend, from November 6 to 8, featuring themes and characters from Disney, Disney Pixar, and international toy brands. These are: Frozen, Barbie, Cartoon Network, Toy Factory and 100 Elves, Snoopy and Charlie Brown, Nickelodeon, Disney Princess, Disney Junior, Adventure Time, Lego Christmas Adventure, and Sanrio Holiday.
These characters and centerpieces are available for all SM mall goers to see, have selfies or groufies taken with family and friends, for free all throughout the Christmas season.
