Microsoft is likewise addressing these demands with its mobile devices.
Coming off this season, the tech giant launched its newest Lumia Windows Phone in the Philippines, the Lumia 640 XL and Lumia 540, targeting people on the go but wanting to accomplish more.
During the press briefing, Microsoft Device’s Head of Marketing in Pan Asia Gary Chan together with model-host-businessman Fabio Ide, demonstrated some of Lumia 640’s features.
“People are looking for a device which brings them more flexibility to switch easily between work and play, without breaking the bank” said Gary Chan, Microsoft Devices’ Head of Marketing in Pan Asia. The Lumia 640 XL keeps people prepared for anything, with the full range of Microsoft experiences – including Office and OneDrive – which Lumia users have come to expect straight out of the box, a superb 5.7” HD screen and long lasting battery.”
Chan adds, “As the age old demand for ‘more for less’ extends to the smartphone market, the Lumia 640 XL presents a strong option for those customers who want the increased productivity a smart device offers without sacrificing affordability.”
Lumia 640 XL
The Lumia 640 XL is a dual-sim 3G capable smartphone boasting of its 5.7″ HD Corning Gorilla Glass IPS LCD. Powered by a 1.2 GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor.
The Lumia 640 XL comes out of the box with Windows Phone 8.1 OS, but can be upgraded to Windows 10 as soon as it comes out.
Equipped with a 13 MP – rear camera with auto focus features.

Lumia 540
Another quad-core-powered Windows Phone from Microsoft comes in the form of Lumia 540, but this time, for the more budget-conscious individuals but still wants the Windows ecosystem on their hands.
The Lumia 540 is a 5″ HD-display handset comes with an 8 megapixel wide angle rear camera. Suitable for the essential image capturing needs.
Windows 10 will also be available for update in this Lumia phone as soon as it launches in July.
Lumia 540 is available in local stores this May at P 7,990 and comes in cyan, orange, white and black.
The Windows Phone ecosystem, according to Chan, is continuously growing with apps are more developers dive into the Microsoft mobile platform.
