Many awaited for the formal opening of the biggest entertainment center in the country today, the City of Dreams Manila.
I was excited to see how the whole place really look like, considering it took Robert de Niro, Leonardo de Caprio and Martin Scorcese to promote this place. So there must be something worth spending for such stars to expect from the City of Dreams.
I was one of those who witnessed the grand launch of the City of Dreams last Feburary 2, when Melco Crown Entertainment management led by Lawrence Ho formally opened the 6.3 hectares entertainment city with a barrage of local and international stars.
Truly, it is worth the visit. Even if I was not into gaming, but the place is sure worth my time to take a close look – from the architecture, the establishments inside, restaurants, and of course, the hotels.
So, while waiting for the Ne-yo concert for the “dream” concert, I, together with other media people, was toured around the City of Dreams.
Hyatt City of Dreams Manila
City of Dreams is the location of the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Asia. Hyatt boasts of its 365 modern rooms that can comfortably house any guests. Hyatt occupies two of the major buildings in City of Dreams.
For people who loves to eat, Hyatt has The Cafe and The Lounge to tickle your taste buds with their local and international cuisines. The Cafe, where I was able to try their buffet, has a wide range of selections. It is like a gallery of delectable treats showcased in more or less 10 counters bearing different type of foods and preparations.
Nobu Hotel Manila
Another first in the Philippines (and even Asia) as City of Dreams brings Japanese celebrity Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s Nobu Hotel in the Philippines.
Both local and foreign guests in Nobu Hotel can experience renowned Chef Nobu’s, who came into business partnership with Academy Awards-winning actor Robert de Niro, signature dishes and his company’s hospitality management.
Nobu Hotel sports of its restaurant known across the globe. Its cabana-styled exterior layout offers much of a relaxed eating pleasure. Not to mention a lap pool at the roof deck, shared with Hyatt City of Dreams Manila.
Crown Towers Manila
Crown Towers occupy the two other “golden” buildings in the City of Dreams. This 6-star hotel offers luxurious hotel living at its finest offering about 260 rooms to choose from. Though at the time I went there, the Crown Towers was the only hotel media was not allowed to visit. Among the three hotels in the City of Dreams, Crown Towers is said to be the most expensive.
Crown Towers has its own gaming room apart from the City of Dreams’ main entertainment center. Crown Towers boasts of its premium restaurant, The Tasting Room (here’s a quick look at some of their dishes).
DREAMPLAY
Dreamplay is a realization of every kid, and kid-inside-adult’s fantasy of his Dreamworks’ favorite animation adventure. This is probably THE best place for me at the City of Dreams. I am highly anticipating its opening. During the media tour, Dreamplay was still under construction. Plus, we were advised not to take photos for ourselves.
Words are but short to describe how exciting seeing (even unfinished) how you can actually be part of an adventure inspired by the animations of Dreamworks. Plus, it takes mental, physical and emotional intelligence to actually take part in the games. That’s why both kids and adults can surely enjoy this entertainment treat at City of Dreams.
According to the management, Dreamplay will open in March.

Talk about exclusive!
Pangaea is the most exclusive Ultra Lounge in Manila sporting of its exotic and highly-creative interiors. It even has the a rotating grand piano DJ booth for guests to circle around it.
Chaos
City of Dream Manila’s Chaos Nightclub offers a different kind of nightlife experience. Audiences can indulge fantasies as acrobats dance and performers entertain alongside world-class DJs in the high-energy Dance Club or enjoy a private thrilling experience in the KTV Rooms.
And while, I was personally disappointed at Ne-Yo’s performance, since he did not sing Miss Independent (I know, this is a selfish statement, Lol), I find the whole City of Dreams really a place to visit.
CASINO and ENTERTAINMENT
Of course, being the newest entertainment center in Metro Manila, many are curious of how City of Dreams’ casino and gaming area looks like. Here’s a look of how its glittering, attractive lights showcase the game spot.
